From Design to Manufacture: Innovative New Skirt Set

We were delighted to be awarded an exciting and challenging new contract to design and manufacture a complete skirt set for a newly built air cushion barge. The impressive self-propelled, 54M x 24M vessel will be capable of carrying a payload of 150T traversing over tundra, swamps, water and ice.

The project was complex and presented some specific design challenges, particularly when evaluating methods of reducing damage by abrasion. However, the CFE team thrive on innovation and intricacy. Utilising the team’s expertise, we are pleased to have delivered a practical and well-engineered solution. With the skirt set completed, the next stage is the sea trials, due this year.
