Deck Lashing

ABout

Engineered to perform

Timber Deck Cargoes require specialist securing equipment as specified by the IMO Code of Safe Practice for Timber Deck Cargoes 2011 to ensure the security and integrity of the stowage and safety of the vessel and crew. Checkmate Webbing Deck Lashing systems exceed the minimum standards required by the code and provide a high level of securing with ease of application not afforded by traditional securing equipment.

Checkmate’s Webbing Deck Lashing System is aimed specifically at securing Timber Deck cargoes. The system provides many advantages over the traditional use of steel chains and turnbuckles.

Securing a full deck load of packaged timber on a Handy Max type vessel weighs a fraction of chain securing systems, 4800kg compared 23,000kg for roughly the same cost. This 80% weight saving makes it easier and substantially quicker to deploy, saving valuable shipping time and reducing labour costs.
